Pros & Cons

Pros

Wok is thin, but it heats up incredibly fast and distributes heat well. It is lightweight and easy to lift with one hand. Initial protective layer takes a bit more elbow grease to remove.

Luv my new wok. Now for the fun part. No weld). Anything is possible with a bit of subborness and desire to defend your purchase to your significant other.

Wipe down with cooking oil and coat front and back of the pan with light oil. Rinse out the wok and using the same technique as previously mentioned after each seasoning cycle, scrub out the wok without soap. The best tip i can give you is buy a gallo...  Read More

The attached 'tube' handle welded on is for you to put a handle in of a length you prefer. Using this on a turkey fry burner with a 10x12 duct reducer as a base but may upgrade to a high output burner later. We have a bluestar open burner 20k btu gas ...  Read More

Tenuous, but straightforward initial seasoning. Took time to clean and season - don’t forget to season the inside of the tube handle. Seasoned it and have been using it at least once a week.

Cons

The coating is not a protective machine oil coating like most carbon steel woks have to protect from rusting before cleaned and seasoned. Followed the instructions and just made a huge mess.

Quality

The vinegar method that the instructions call for might work well but i chose a different method and have been pleased with the results

There are instructions for initial cleaning and seasoning included with the wok

It will eventually burn off and we are more concerned with the internal pan than the outside

Took photos of the coating removal beginning to final product

Packaging/appearance

Like other reviews a regular home stove will not burn off the protective coating so i used fine sand paper to scrub off the coating

I was able to remove all of the coating and now i can’t stop cooking

Again this will not completely remove the coating but that comes next

Get some scotch brite pads cause you will need them to remove the coating

Competitiveness

Using this on a turkey fry burner with a 10x12 duct reducer as a base but may upgrade to a high output burner later

I am a very advanced and awardwinning home and personal chef
