Pros
Moveable set pointer is great. Construction is good. It’s accurate & it operates without a battery.
Many gradation marks, so many so, that dial (face) needs to be larger for easy read. Reading appears to be accurate. It stays in place thanks to a well-designed pot clip.
Cons
My unit is definitely defective, and i cannot recommend this. Gives a feel / look of quality -- but junk. Had to purchase a new one from a different seller.
If you're looking for an inaccurate cooking thermometer and a sure way to burn good food -- this thermometer is for you! Will not go above 150 degrees. Only used it once, roasting bone-in chicken breasts.

To calibrate i simply clipped the stem to the side of a 1

Water boils at 212 degrees f 100 c and the thermometers pointer indicated slightly higher

So i used a 10mm box wrench to slightly rotate the nut behind the dial until the pointer registered 212 f 100 c

My yogurtmaker kit included a thermometer with just two markings maximum and minimum temperatures for adding the yogurt starter to the boiled milk if the milk is too hot or too cold the starter wont activate

As the water temperature fell i noted the new thermometers reading at the yogurt maximum and yogurt minimum temps
