No startup issues, instantly recognized by pfsense. Diy router/firewall is up and replacing my dd-wrt routers.
This is the cheapest and best vmware-compatible card i could find for the money. Using this in a dell r720 server with vmware. Works with any os, easy to configure for sr-iov.
I'm thrilled with how easy it was, and how well it works. Great card, works well. Works as expected.
My switch is a tp-link tl-sx1008 switch. Installed into a dell powerddge t620 tower running xcp-ng. Recommend ensuring there's a little space on the pcie slot on the motherboard to avoid overheating other objects.

Cons
A fan indicates a lower quality chip which runs hot. Is not like a cpu/gpu that throttles down when hot. It simply disconnects from the system like you pull it out.

After bridging the connections on the qnap to get internet passthrough everything was smoking fast
With the price of those official modules it is almost as inexpensive to buy an official intel card with the modules
Downloaded the drivers installed them and poof
