It was blocking the ir sensors of my tv and there was just no way around it

The kinect was unable to get the ir signal to the tv and turn it off and on w my voice commands

It did not work with my att uverse receiver on the main tv that also runs through the xbox one

The soundbar was more of a hassle but i just looked up the model number in the xbox settings and it found the code for it

No matter what i tried i couldnt get it to work without literally holding the blaster against the fabric so thats where i stuck it
