Rather than a taupe color which is lighter these could best be described as a milk chocolate brown

I have tried all different thread counts from 200 to 1000 threads per inch and its not always the thread count that makes a sheet comfortable

This 100 egyptian cotton sheets were washed prior to using them

They are not the thickest 300 count sheets but also not the thinnest

I have also purchased higher thread count sheets sometimes at great expense looking for soft comfortable sheets but often found there was no correlation between thread countexpense and softness of sheets
