Pros & Cons
Pros
The weight saving is an added bonus to the reduced cost, is the greatly reduced weight! Does exactly what it claims to do! Saves a ton of money on batteries. Very handy.
These hold the battery more securely and work better in a few devices. It easily clicks and secures the fit. Can be easily removed by pressing the positive connector down.
Cons
These have no endcap. The battery floats about in all directions. Might as well wrap cardboard around batteries and tape around.

Yes you could just get rechargeable d batteries but if you are like me most of your devices use aa and only a small subset use d so theres little reason to make the investment into rechargeable d batteries

Like d cells you need to keep your hand on it installing them or they will fly out way lighter than actual d cells

The are slightly small in diameter than a regular d cell so you need to line the contacts up in some devices

Aa batteries are relatively inexpensive compared to the larger sizes and add a lot more weight
