Bought this to keep our miniature daschund from falling or wanting to jump off the bed. If he thrashes around at night, they gently remind him to stay in bed.
These are sturdy and are the right length and height for our beds. They are sturdy enough to prevent a child moving over them, but not so hard that you cannot sit on them. Occasionally they slide around but nothing too obnoxious….

It fits under the sheet and there are no slip areas on both the top and the bottom to keep it where you put it
