It is attached to a littler arm so it sticks out from the headrest allowing you to angle it better

Also if the mirror base is not very snug and secure then the joint and mirror will move around more causing it to wear down faster

If you cant get the base snug then this design is not for your car

Worked for us in our suv yes sometimes it jostled to angle wrong but i would adjust it and see baby just fine

This is waaaaay bigger than i wanted in a mirror but it wasnt as obnoxious as i thought it would be once installed in my car

Was pretty good until my daughter kicked it and broke the mirror off the base piece
