Although an ordinary npt die will cut very similar threads on 38 stock only the last smallest threads of an npt die will engage the stock allowing the axis of the threads to deviate from the axis of the stock unless extra care is exercised

Almost all the threads of this nps die engage the stock making proper alignment almost automatic not a matter of skill

The downside of this product for englishsystem users is that its diameter is 30mm so is too big to fit a standard 1 25
