The night vision is pretty awesome and the screen is legit. Only 2 flaws (if i'm nit picking) the brightness of the screen makes it easy for you yourself to be spotted. The 4x zoom is handy.

They perform very well both in daylight as well as at night with the built in ir spotlight.

It's super easy to use and i don't think he'll have any issues. There are a total of 6 * and two things should be kept in mind. Get as much out of the manual as you can and then start playing with the unit.

Do yourself a favor and skip this. These are a total waste of money. They were returned.
