These are really hold-open arms with a friction dampener. We usually associate soft close with an air- or spring- damped hinge. The hinge works perfectly for our needs.
There is tension but it is not intended to close a heavy lid slowly. It soft closes 75% of the way and slams hard the last 25%. Now my chest lid has holes in it, and still doesn't soft close.
None of the brackets are assembled in the same manner. The angles of the bracket insure poor alignment. Installation instructions are small diagrams with dimensions.

This closes the door without a slam. My door jamb is 3/4 thick. A definite need for a door pantry or common area guest bathroom.
These hinges fit the existing rounded inset in the door and its frame perfectly.
The angle of the hinge isn't enough so the hinge doesn’t fold flat. The result is the door no longer fits in the jamb. Wil not loosen tension.
Spring mechanism is of poor design or defective. Could not adjust after installing. Easy to install but failed on the first day.
