Rf explorer is more portable and durable than software defined radio. My only concern is the battery charger and battery life. Thankfully, there is a battery menu page that provides percent charged and a large charging message.

Works great for looking at wifi channel congestion. If you do professional audio there are several 3rd party frequency coordination apps which talk to rf explorer. It's very easy to fry any spectrum analyzer if you hit it with too much power.

The antenna works great once you deal with getting it set up. Holds firm at 95+ highway speeds on a suv.

Standing wave ratio (swr) is the ratio of the reflected to radiated signal. Works great with my 50 year old ge 40 channel cb. I switch from cb to 10 meter, and it works on both.

The whip (rod) has a sharp edge on one end, which can easily cut skin. There is no rounded end to prevent a stabbing injury. Slid right off the roof at 50mph and landed in the bed.

It works, but i am wholly disappointed by the rust. It says it handles 300 watts and only had 30 watts run through it. The screw-shell connector is cheap and does not fit onto a radio very well. Do not buy this antenna.
