The instructions are simple and clear. Easy to install. These are sooo worth it.
The correct screw hole angle was the key to installing the dampler flush with the cabinet. Angle is correct if the chuck head rubs against the top of the cabinet opening when you finish drilling.
Even at the lightest setting it stops a standard cabinet door from closing. Leaves doors open and is very inconvenient. The screw holes for mounting it are tiny.
The body is plastic, and they are not easy to install securely. It is not nickel chrome but plastic and flimsy plastic.
It’s important to install the soft close on whichever hinge is least likely to be bumped. If you’re lucky enough to have blum hinges and you get the right size of soft-close attachments, installation is literally just a snap.
Once installed they look bulky and yes they do dampen but there's no way to adjust. If they are bumped they will fall off and you will find yourself often having to refasten them.
