This is by far the cleanest and best value organic quinoa that i've tried. Flavor it great and texture is perfect! My only complaint is that it's a bit boring, so i spice it up with everything in the rack.
The packaging is tight and arrived without any spillage.
There were two maggots in just that scoop. Several chunks of the quinoa were stuck together with webs and hanging by webs from the side of the bag. Too late to request a refund.
It's more flavorful than cous cous, but has a texture that is similar. Tasted great and were very easy to prepare. Quinoa has a satisfying texture and sticks with me for hours.
It is easy to tear open and has a ziplock included. The bag is big, & resealable, and the one i received has an expiration of may 2021, so plenty of time to use.
Happy andes organic quinoa is usda certified organic and non-gmo. Single-sourced, organic, and from a responsible company. This quinoa definitely isn't the cheapest out there.
The white is the sweeter of the quinoa. I used this for an oatmeal like breakfast with cinnamon. It pairs great with a savory protein, like porkchops or steak, where you'd eat something like bread stuffing.
It's gluten free and has a low glycemic index for those of us trying to consume good carbs instead of sugary, starchy foods. Overall this impresses me as a great whole grain.
The only reason for it to be so bitter is that it is not pre-rinsed. This pre-washed quinoa has a bad/strong flavor, which is what is supposed to be washed off in the washing process.
