This product is not that great. Let it sit over night and it still cracked. Crumbles in water and clouds entire tank. I let my reef drying for 24 hours to have better results.

Use a turkey baster to help loosen and blow off the surfaces. Dying algae can raise the tank's nutrients. Will have to keep an eye out on nutrients going up with dead algae.
