The adhesive backing keeps it firmly in place and allows it to last longer. It prevents sliding on hardwood floors, wood floors, laminate or tile flooring.

The adhesive is not good at all. Still moves anytime someone sits down and we are constantly having to move the couch back in place.

These are very well made and durable. Can change when the old one cracks.
