The adhesive backing keeps it firmly in place and allows it to last longer. It prevents sliding on hardwood floors, wood floors, laminate or tile flooring.
The adhesive is not good at all. Still moves anytime someone sits down and we are constantly having to move the couch back in place.
These are tight fitting, but not too tight. The clear plastic helps them blend into the chair. Saving my wood floors. Protects the floor.
