It’s a slab of metal, but nicely manufactured. Yes it is heavy but not to heavy for me to lift it.

I am bummed about this purchase which i'm now stuck with. My answer is no. do not buy. Think very carefully before buying.

It's just iron with enough carbon in it composite to quality it as steel but it rusts and may not be really safe. Rusted after day 1. Completely burnt bottom of pizza.

The bottom of the stone is only marginally darker than the top. A thin piece of metal would be better as it conducts more heat into the crust.

The tmnt logo looks like the old school turtles i watched as a kid, nostalgic. It’s a great gift for the tmnt lover and a gift that makes the parents get more involved. Bought this as a christmas gift for my tmnt fan hubby.

Clean up can be daunting for the small crevices. The sewer grate holes are neat touches.

It works just like any other waffle maker. We use this every friday for homemade pizza. It works perfectly.

The pizza maker makes clicking sounds and smoking. I'm afraid it may be a fire hazard.
