The stanwood 10 oz yarn winder is amazing for caking yarn. This winders is absolutely worth every penny. If you are at the stage in your knitting or crochet that you prefer to wind your own yarn, this is really what you should save up for.

It's movement is very smooth, with no tangling. No tangles, spreading or shaping with this machine. The gears aren't flimsy plastic like some others that i looked at.

It is jerky and winds way too tightly, unless i pull yarn off my swift as it is winding. The bobbin sits in barely contacts the gear that the handle spins. The gears are not strong enough to pull a swift without slipping.
