Pros and Cons

Pros4

Jaws of the lion uses the same rule set as gloomhaven, but introduces them in a more gradual fashion, over the course of 5 scenarios you learn all of the core rules. A jaw is a jaw, and jaws are jaws.

Once you understands its systems, it is less complicated than many other board games that i play. It also has you weighing tradeoffs like whether to work towards a new class or to have one really high level class. Gloomhaven delivers a captivating rpg...  Read More

The story is fun, the character progression is interesting and customizable. The depth is staggering. This is an exceptionally well crafted game.

Gloomhaven brings together the fun of a dungeon crawl adventure and the smoothness of a modern eurogame brilliantly. Game is challenging and entertaining.

Reviewer says setup is a real drag and the whole experience makes me wonder what else i could spend my time on. It's dull to play. It looks great, but in the end, it's just boring. This is not a game for casual gamers, or even serious gamers who like ...  Read More

There appears to be a misprint or a weird cut with one tile page. Most of the time we cannot get them to connect without pushing the tiles down hard and then it ends up bending the cardboard all up.

Poor quality, missing parts, and slow (if it's even happening) turn around on replacements absolutely cripples the experience. Disappointed though it was damaged for the expense of this. Not worth the $100+ asking price.

If you're a scrabble fiend, this is a really awesome second (or third) set to have. There's nothing like the deluxe set, which is huge and rotates. My only grievance is that i had to buy the scrabble dictionary separately.

The tiles click in place very securely on the board and stay in place after you close it up and carry the pouch around. The tile trays have a cover that can flip down, which is great if you're playing in close quarters or need to pause the game and st...  Read More

It's easy to pack up the game and put it away in the middle of the game without ruining your progress. You can fold up the board, zip it up, and resume the game with everything still intact. Holders click into slot on the back of one half of the board...  Read More

I wish they made the letter holders a little bigger. If i look for it, i notice the letter thickness is slightly off depending on which letter, but it is barely noticeable.

Cons2

This set has too many flaws for me to be able to recommend it. Shoddy work. Very annoying and disappointing. By the time we played 4 times they have for the most part become unreadable!

Some letters have so much ink that they look like they are in bold. When the tiles are in the racks (which are themselves very fiddly to use, and unstable), the tile numbers are covered by the bottom of the rack - so it's impossible to see what each l...  Read More
