The caster wheels sit in the felt pads but not snug so when you move/roll the chairs they come right off. The caster wheel comes off when the chair is rolled.

They are thicker than the small hemispherical dots one sometimes sees on cabinet doors and drawers. Putting these on also makes the doors so much quieter and they are so easy to use. They do not dampen the door closing sound very much.
