The only drawback is that it is difficult to clean.

Mine is expresso in color, bought it august 2015. Kitchen-aid is a reliable brand and normally i prefer to buy something tried and true when it's an appliance i use every day.

Happy coffee drinker. Great little grinder. No more mess. I appreciate it for all its worth.

I am shocked that kitchenaid would put their name on a product so poorly designed. My basic krups blade grinder performs better than this grinder.

The grind size is inconsistent. It takes about 60 seconds or multiple attempts to get the right grind. It grinds the beans alright; however, it's nearly impossible to get them out of the bottom of the unit. It doesn't cut almonds well at all.

Even with the cap on, the inside still spills outside. The issue is due to a missing lid. In the dishwasher upside down they collect water because there are no drainage holes. Don't expect a fine ground.
