My favorite part is with the base game when it is nearing the end you can pretty much see whose going to win. My boy's ages 14-24 are obsessed with this game. Husband and teenage kids enjoy it.
New layer of strategy and adventure for players. It helps balance the game and make it playable with larger groups. Etiquette is super important--knowing who is truly in the lead vs not; limiting your trades to the person in last place; etc.
This expansion is a blast. Best expansion to regular catan game. When i ask friends which expansion should i get, everyone highly recommends this one.
The cities & knights expansion is a fantastic addition to the catan board game. I enjoy how it feels how i have more control over the development over my cities, land, and army. Definitely like merging seafarer and cities and knights though.
Cities & knights expansion is an excellent extension if you have more than 4-players. This particular 5-6 player extension gives you the knights and city wall pieces for brown and green team. Oh and 2 more flip card charts for the city upgrades.

The surface of the playing board has a large scuff across is that will not rub out. Also does not have the molded case to hold pieces. The entire inside falls out as well, including the thing that keeps it magnetized to the board so it is constantly f... Read More
Not magnetic had backgammon on it. Magnets are only affective if it’s completely still on a table which defeats the purpose. Also magnets are suitable however quite a bit weak on tilt.
There is no point in dunking on the grammar in the instruction manual. It’s obvious that non-english speakers wrote the manual using some * translation software. The back of the packaging features loads of broken english.
