This is unlike the sounddock clicker remotes. Open it up, plug it in and use it. There is a huge difference, they aren't concerned with sound for a tv.

The seams are smooth and the surfaces are smooth. It fits that bill perfectly. And my solo proves it.
For most newer movies and sporting events this speaker does the job. Great dialogue enhancement feature.
Excessive bass is compounded by an appalling lack of treble. No base or treble adjustment. No equalizer type adjustments either.
The cpu fails to ramp-up the power supply. Having to disconnect & reconnect drives me insane. Sometimes if i disconnect cables and reconnect it will work.
Months after the purchase it is always going out. We have to unplug it from the back & reconnect. The seller's return policy won't replace the product so we are stuck with an unreliable, expensive product.
The soundbar is nice and sleek. Looking at specs, and reviews, this soundbar from sony is nice. Two little gripes.
The sound is certainly an upgrade from the regular tv speakers. The bass can thump pretty hard when asked to.
It works seamlessly with my tv and produces great sound only after taking the soundbar out of demo mode. As others have mentioned, it integrates with the tv controls. The optical input works just fine.
It's punchy, but not deep. The soundbar is crisp and and i can hear dialog.

Many much better sounding speakers from other companys offer much higher quality soundbars for less money. I feel sony is trying to compete with a lower budget offering from better sounding products. Limited to no bass and zero mid range.
