The rooms are basic with a bed and separate bathroom.\nThe bad bits: the bedsheets and towels were laundered but had brown and grey stains on them. The location is close to the airport, but not really close enough to be walking distance with heavy bags down a dirt track. It's not close to the beach or town centre. The owners are not friendly or helpful, you wonder why they decided to go into the hospitality business as they don't really seem to enjoy having guests. Overall, there isn't really a reason to choose Atavai pension, there are plenty or equally good value pensions in Hanga Roa that offer cleaner accommodation and a friendly welcome.","review_rating":1.0,"sentiment_class":"unknown","sentiment_result":0.6692069942857143,"sentiment_breakdown":[["The good bits: it's cheap.",["positive",0.8554307]],["The rooms are basic with a bed and separate bathroom.",["positive",0.96026564]],["The bad bits: the bedsheets and towels were laundered but had brown and grey stains on them.",["negative",0.16686457]],["The location is close to the airport, but not really close enough to be walking distance with heavy bags down a dirt track.",["positive",0.8205268]],["It's not close to the beach or town centre.",["negative",0.19736825]],["The owners are not friendly or helpful, you wonder why they decided to go into the hospitality business as they don't really seem to enjoy having guests.",["unknown",0.7160344]],["Overall, there isn't really a reason to choose Atavai pension, there are plenty or equally good value pensions in Hanga Roa that offer cleaner accommodation and a friendly welcome.",["positive",0.9679586]]],"reviewer_fake_points":10}

The hotel was absolutly empty, no turists there, the rooms were waiting for us. We could see the beds and chairs through windows. We were very tired, wake up at 3.30 am in Santiago.. we wanted to go to rooms... The owner forbided us to enter the rooms till 1 pm. Eventhough rooms were ready to come in.... We sit inside and waited at the reception, but owner was angry and we had to go out to the sun. My friend is old, she wanted to rest, the others also wanted to sit. We had to wait 1,5 hour under the sun till 1 pm to enter the rooms..... Our dreamy holiday was very spoiled by this.\nThe walls are very thin, you can hear even the slightest noice from other rooms. \nBreakfast was old bread and butter, juice, jam, coffee.....\nMore money we saved because of cheaper accommodation, more money we spent for taxis. It is not possible to walk there and back all days.","review_rating":1.0,"sentiment_class":"unknown","sentiment_result":0.7805219564705883,"sentiment_breakdown":[["I and my 4 friends arrived to this accommodation at 11.",["positive",0.8985124]],["30 am.",["positive",0.84990555]],["The hotel was absolutly empty, no turists there, the rooms were waiting for us.",["positive",0.8032413]],["We could see the beds and chairs through windows.",["unknown",0.68043023]],["We were very tired, wake up at 3.",["unknown",0.75386584]],["30 am in Santiago.",["positive",0.87508667]],["we wanted to go to rooms.",["positive",0.87811023]],["The owner forbided us to enter the rooms till 1 pm.",["positive",0.92622066]],["Eventhough rooms were ready to come in.",["positive",0.94210833]],["We sit inside and waited at the reception, but owner was angry and we had to go out to the sun.",["unknown",0.41435832]],["My friend is old, she wanted to rest, the others also wanted to sit.",["positive",0.7900463]],["We had to wait 1,5 hour under the sun till 1 pm to enter the rooms.",["positive",0.93953264]],["Our dreamy holiday was very spoiled by this.",["unknown",0.7655526]],["The walls are very thin, you can hear even the slightest noice from other rooms.",["unknown",0.64323395]],["Breakfast was old bread and butter, juice, jam, coffee.",["positive",0.95900273]],["More money we saved because of cheaper accommodation, more money we spent for taxis.",["unknown",0.46310714]],["It is not possible to walk there and back all days.",["unknown",0.68655837]]],"reviewer_fake_points":50}

{"reviewer_id":"DC80C8AC3505FBEFC350FBBD5EE1B5EC","reviewer_name":"Sondra S","review_text":"Location: a gentle 20 min walk to the centre of Hanga Roa. Close to the airport. Free parking. It's not the handiest for the cafes and restaurants in town but it's not disastrously far either. The road is lit all the way back and most tour companies will pick you up and drop you off from your hotel (except our tour didn't because they didn't think they could turn at the end of the road!)\n\nHotel room: we stayed in a standard double. It was basic and clean enough - it was absolutely adequate. Please note that the room does not have a kettle (it is not advertised that it does but something to bear in mind - see below for overview). Fresh towels everyday and basic toiletries provided.\n\nBreakfast: this is very basic but supplements are available at extra cost. We are not sure how this compares to other hotels on the island but in my (uk) opinion their offering doesn't constitute a breakfast, esp at the rate. They provide a glass of fruit juice, a hot drink and two bread buns with a pod each of butter and dulce de leche. \n\nRecommendation: we booked about 4 months in advance with booking.com and reserved the room at £54per night. Other travellers have recommended booking at last minute to get better deals - we checked the prices of accom on arrival on the island and found that Atavai was then advertised at £38per night. If I were to go again, esp in low season, I would hold off.\n\nOverview: we booked on a price basis and were looking at the lower end of the scale as we didn't intend on spending much time 'at home'. Whilst Atavai wasn't terrible, I wouldn't recommend it for a trip to Easter Island. I would book somewhere with kitchen facilities because there will be some days that you would want to make a packed lunch (for a tour) rather than paying 15,000 for one to be included. It is possible to make instant noodles to take with you in your own Tupperware but be aware that the hotel also charges for hot water - 2000 pesos per cup, which they do measure.\n\n","review_rating":3.0,"sentiment_class":"positive","sentiment_result":0.8266883504999999,"sentiment_breakdown":[["Location: a gentle 20 min walk to the centre of Hanga Roa.",["positive",0.8499134]],["Close to the airport.",["positive",0.90707666]],["Free parking.",["positive",0.89951706]],["It's not the handiest for the cafes and restaurants in town but it's not disastrously far either.",["unknown",0.6741387]],["The road is lit all the way back and most tour companies will pick you up and drop you off from your hotel (except our tour didn't because they didn't think they could turn at the end of the road!",["positive",0.8222462]],[") Hotel room: we stayed in a standard double.",["positive",0.93821967]],["It was basic and clean enough - it was absolutely adequate.",["positive",0.9216541]],["Please note that the room does not have a kettle (it is not advertised that it does but something to bear in mind - see below for overview).",["unknown",0.68195933]],["Fresh towels everyday and basic toiletries provided.",["positive",0.9893489]],["Breakfast: this is very basic but supplements are available at extra cost.",["positive",0.9985852]],["We are not sure how this compares to other hotels on the island but in my (uk) opinion their offering doesn't constitute a breakfast, esp at the rate.",["positive",0.855161]],["They provide a glass of fruit juice, a hot drink and two bread buns with a pod each of butter and dulce de leche.",["unknown",0.7899938]],["Recommendation: we booked about 4 months in advance with booking.",["positive",0.914052]],["com and reserved the room at £54per night.",["positive",0.93142974]],["Other travellers have recommended booking at last minute to get better deals - we checked the prices of accom on arrival on the island and found that Atavai was then advertised at £38per night.",["positive",0.9277182]],["If I were to go again, esp in low season, I would hold off.",["unknown",0.54573315]],["Overview: we booked on a price basis and were looking at the lower end of the scale as we didn't intend on spending much time 'at home'.",["positive",0.94706583]],["Whilst Atavai wasn't terrible, I wouldn't recommend it for a trip to Easter Island.",["unknown",0.34583977]],["I would book somewhere with kitchen facilities because there will be some days that you would want to make a packed lunch (for a tour) rather than paying 15,000 for one to be included.",["unknown",0.7113751]],["It is possible to make instant noodles to take with you in your own Tupperware but be aware that the hotel also charges for hot water - 2000 pesos per cup, which they do measure.",["positive",0.8827392]]],"reviewer_fake_points":-10}
