mother to stay at the new resort at lifestyles called Sunrise Suites The day of the reservation my husaband recieved a call from the booking agent telling him that the sunrise suites had maintenance issues and that they could only get them a room at the presidential suites He had made it clear to the booker that my mother in law needed to be near the casino but the presidential suites are very far away That was the least of the issues When we arrived at the place the room i must say was very very nice I got to the bar that evening and all i wanted was an ice cold presidente beer in a bottle Shouldnt be a tough request correct Well the bartender looked at me like I had three heads and told me that bottled beer is not part of the all inclusive package and that I couldnt even pay with either US Dollars or Pesos If I wanted a bottled beer I needed to go to the duty free shop for 10 dollars a beer This was only the beginning of the downslide The next morning woke up went to a late breakfastearly lunch only to arrive at the cafeteria to find empty buffet trays and when we asked for more rice they actually told us we are out of rice Well I am Dominican and running out of rice is like running out of sunshine and humidity Its incredible When we asked how they told us that this isnt the high season and they dont make extra food The next issue is that they give you blue wrist bands as an all inclusive guest which prohibits you from most of the nicer areas of the resort They dont tell you this when you book But lastly the worst part of my trip was the bugs in the room We called to the front desk when we woke up and saw flying bugs all over our beds They told us they would send the exterminator and when we got back from the pool we found empty cans of Raid We didnt see many bugs that evening but then again on day 2 we saw them in the morning I called again and again found a can of raid in the room and dead bugs as well as live bugs all over the bed and sheets I slept on the sofa that evening We actually got up that day and left the resort and a nights fee a day early It was actually disgusting and for them to do nothing for us when they were made aware of this is also a travesty I actually took video of the bugs because I couldnt beleive it Lastly I left 4 very expensive beach hats in my room in my haste to leave that hell hole and when I emailed them to have them shipped they told me to send them a fedex number which my husband did 2 days later they emailed him telling him that they cant ship within the DR using fedex and if i wanted my hats i had to come back and get them within 30 days or they would be going in the trash We have a vacation home in the DR about 2 hours away but this is just the icing on the cake Stay away from this resort Its all about selling time shares if you are not a member they treat you like a second class citizen We paid top dollar over 2000 bucks for 4 nights Thats not cheap for the DR I now have to send a driver
