to relax after 3 weeks of travelling in WesternEurope Vietnam was the last leg of our trip before heading back to Melbourne The resort had arranged a car for us at the airport and we were warmly welcomed upon arrival at the resort with a refreshing tea while keys and paperwork were being managednnThe whole resort is designed based on traditional Phu Qoc houses The villa was stunning very spacious clean and well furnished The master bedrooms bathroom is massive and you can even enjoy a bath on the balcony while enjoying the sunrise or at any time during the day We were lucky as well that the villa next to ours wasnt booked during our stay so we got to enjoy the pool for ourselves you also have your own private beach access if you get tired of the poolnnThe resort has two restaurants one called green bay serving mainly western food pasta burger pizza Risotto and a few Asian dishes pad Thai tom yam and another one called coral bay that only serves Vietnamese dishes We tried once the green bay restaurant pizza and risotto were good but we enjoyed more the coral bay restaurant This is where their local expertise resides and it offers a good variety of Vietnamese dishes We also highly recommend doing the barbecue night on Wednesday night where you ger to you ger to pick whatever seafood and meat you like and pay per kg Seafood in Vietnam is amazing and the chefs did a remarkable job at grilling everything we ordered Overall the service was pretty good and the waitstaff was very friendly and they did their best to make our stay enjoyablennWe spent most of our time at the resort during our stay to relax and rest before heading back to Australia The Gym is a bit small but it has the usual machinestools treadmill bicycle weight lifting and steps We always went early 78 am before breakfast and rarely saw anyone but us Even though we were not in the middle of the peak season it seems big enough to accommodate for everyone considering that it is open all day long We highly recommend the massage service at the resort Just be aware that certain massages warm stone for example and a few others need to check when you get there need to be booked in advance as the staff need to prepare for it We were not informed upon our initial booking and had to reschedule for the day after Minor issue that didnt cause any drama and we gave our feedback to the management to help them improve and deliver great customer service nnOverall there arent many activities to do or things to see on Phu Qoc Things have expanded rapidly overall the past 5 years and roads and small towns are emerging based on the growth of the tourism industry In a way it remains a hideaway where to rest and revitalize and we know a few mates working in HCMC that like to fly there for a couple days away from the noise and pollution of the main cities Outside of the resort you can check rock island a nice highend cocktail bar about 6km west of the resort Boat trip from the shore to the small island is a bit expensive but you are not coming there every day so allow yourself a nice treat and enjoy the stunning sunset nnWe would like again to thank Green Bay resort for looking after us during our stay and to have made it so enjoyable and revitalizing Green Bay is very affordable compared to other resorts or luxury hotels on the islands and definitely a great value
