Pros & Cons

Pros

Plays well, stays in tune, pretty decent tone for such a small body. Loud enough to play alongside a full size acoustic. The only thing about the guitar that i’m unhappy with are the tuners. This essentially creates a “locking tuner’.

The taylor gs mini is bit bigger in size. It sounds better than most 3/4 guitars i have played however. I'm not that small, but i'm 5'3 and a dreadnaught swallows me whole (or at least it feels that way) i also have a taylor gs mini which is a higher ...  Read More

Cons

The intonation is off by a lot. By the time you get to the 12th fret it sounds awful. There is a reason that martins and gibsons cost over $2000 for a decent instrument.

They shipped me an unusable product & says contact yamaha not us. This guitar is not the actual size. It is tiny! The picture attached - is 3 guitars.

Quality

They sound great and are very wellbuilt

It holds tune very well decent sound and is well made

The yamaha sounds mutedheld back and the tuning machines are poor and stiff

The strings are way too light totally dead and sound thin and tinny

Price

I think this one for the price is great

Overall it’s a great instrument for the price and i’m really happy with it

I paid around 120 and i think for that price this thing is a nice little guitar

Some have said its a little pricey for a beginners but i am all about buying something quality that will last

Shipping

I was very surprised when this arrived

Packaging/appearance

Better care in packaging should be provided by yamaha with either a higher grade of cardboard andor a double package

The only problem was that the shipping box was a little damaged but the guitar was packed safely inside the internal packing was like new

Competitiveness

Yamaha has been making guitars for decades and their quality seems better than average

The fender was made in china and while the finish was better the pitch and action were not as good as the yamaha which is made in indonesia

I looked at two other major brand 34 scale guitars that were much more expensive but after test playing them the yamaha won hands down
