It has its own power source and does not connect to the xbox unit in any way that it can be detected which could void your warranty

The cooler turns itself on as heat is generated then turns itself once the unit cools enough after being turned off usually 1 minute

The intercooler is supposed to turn on itself it did after 1 minute and then the cool part was that when i turned off the console it ran for another 2 minutes to cool it down

The first intercoolers were plastic melting warranty voiding disasters
