I was quite surprised how flat it was out of the box needed very little flattening on both sides
Competitiveness
Better than previous whetstones i have bought
And my knives are sharp but not to sharp like they show in the yourtube videos
It does need soaking for longer than a king or shapton stone i have mainly king stones with shapton stones for final polishing

This is my first review of this itemi bought it today by the recommendation of my friend who told me to buy a sharpening stone because it allegedly is the most efficient type of bladesharpening tool to use in order to have a knife that can get razorsharp and has the longest life compared to other easier knife sharpeners that may chip damage and wear down the blade so much that you cant use it any more

The 1st box had one rubber guard to support the stone when being used and the 2nd had two

This has not impacted my ability to use it but it is an annoyance and im hoping it will come out when i eventually flatten the stones

If you’re someone who just wants to sharpen homekitchen knives i would choose this over your average bq type stones everyday of the week it’s much better than those but not it’s not a professional stone
