The material in the pillow is fairly soft and memory foamish but the problem is mine came with the material all broken up and in clumps

At first the pillow feels very firm but as soon as you lie on it your head sinks into it just enough so thats its comfortable but your head is still supported and kept parallel to the mattress rather than bent towards it

And because its in small pieces rather than one solid piece of foam the pieces stick together
