Pros & Cons

Pros

This is truly an american classic and a spice of what the south was really like in that era. It's not only an expose of the hardships and depravity of slavery.

The book is good, yet the beginning of it is slow and maiden. I read it because it's a banned book in places now. It's worth reading for that alone, just to prove to yourself that all the fuss is over nothing.

Huckleberry finn is the story of huck finn and a runaway * named jim. Huck and jim become friends after huck escapes from his pap. Jim risks his life and his freedom to help first huck and then tom.

Having huck narrate the story, puts you right into the story and takes you to a different place and time. Really wonderful and more serious than tom sawyer. I love huck and i love tom sawyer.

Kindle/audible version for amazonclassics is first rate n terms of production quality. Works great with alongside an audible narration. The sketches by kemble from the first edition are themselves priceless and unsurpassed.

Cons

When the novel was converted to kindle format, there were run on words in every sentence. Not exactly heirloom quality. Impossible to read without a magnifying glass.

Hucks trip down the mississippi was ok but having huckleberry finn narrate things with a lot of side chatter slowed things down in hf and occasionally i missed aspects of the plot which i had to review
