The instrument is robustly constructed from a molded polymer that looks like abs. Very accurate and easy to read and recalculate.

The sun 203 altimeter works great! Purchased this to use in automobile for vacation times. Works fine for my minimal needs at a great value. The best in in non-electronic devices.

These things are actually barometers, with a moveable dial for converting barometric pressure to altitude. It is intuitive to use and easy to calibrate. It's also a good barometer and while at the grand canyon we could see the effects of a storm front... Read More

Never worked out of the box. Often 500 feet wrong (sometimes 1,500 feet in the mountains of colorado) even after calibrating many times. His assumption that this altimeter would be accurate in reflecting such small increments bespeaks his credulity.
