This review is for the 8000 grit suehiro g8dn stone

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The suehiro g8dn stone has a greenish tint because its made from green silicon carbide crystal grits

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Green silicon carbide crystals have a hardness of 9

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Green silicon carbide is even slightly harder than black silicon carbide

The comparable 8000 grit snowwhite colored suehiro w8dn is made with white aluminum oxide crystal grits which have a hardness of 9

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Since silicon carbide is harder than aluminum oxide theoretically the greenish tinted 8000 grit g8dn should cut faster than the 8000 grit white w8dn stone especially when cutting hard steels such as hap40

However i dont have a w8dn to compare the cutting speed of the g8dn to the w8dn

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The stone loads up very quickly with dark streaks and dark patches of metal particles
