The tips are well made with no flaws. My wife is more artsy and she has used them for some calligraphic projects and they worked with no issues. The pens are extremely comfortable to use, even for my arthritic fingers.

The cartridges make the refilling 1000x easier. The new cushioning near the tip makes the pens more ergonomic. I wish the set came with a couple of refillable ink adapters so that you can use more economical ink bottles with the pens.

Cons
The cross pen is cheap and the nibs leak with a tiny shake. The ink is inconsistent and hard to clean. The nibs are too wide and the cartridge is too hard to attach.

Just keep in mind they are calligraphy pens not regular letter writing type pens with smooth rounded nibs
