    Worked just like the last one which is the same model

    At 100 you can just hear them so i have my motherboard on automatic mode so they are run at a slightly reduced speed until i do something stressful and then they ramp up but usually my video card fan has kicked in and these are never heard over the video card fans

    So the answer is yes you will hear them if you leave them at 100 but if you are able to throttle them to about 80 they will be virtually silent and will still move a ton of air

    The fan does generate more noise if you mount it horizontally so i would not recommend that
