The most engaging of the heroes is probably matt burke, but i'm being fairly liberal by calling him engaging. The boring back story of a bazillion characters and the way king jumps around makes my head spin.

Out of all the supernatural creatures, vampires are the least scary. They are just evil bloodsuckers of eastern european complexion. Spoiler they kill the head vampire in the end.
Unnecessary, unnatural profanity is the equivalent of senseless *. Something isn't irresistible, it's resistless. It's not immovable.
