I discovered the hard way that even though my house was built with good old fashioned wooden 2x4s the garage has paper thin metal studs in the ceiling

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Screwed one of those red vinyl coated bike hooks into the ceiling and stood there on the ladder twisting the darn thing while it tore up the sheetrock since it wouldnt screw into the metal stud

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

No problem i said ill just drill a small hole into the stud and hope the bike hook acts like a big ol sheet metal screw

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The hook will seem like its screwed into the stud but a couple of days later itll rip loose and drop your bike onto the hood of your car

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Dont ask me how i know this

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Put em right over the big ugly holes that the bike hooks had left in the ceilings sheetrock

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

We still have to help the kids put their bikes up and take them off

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Dont waste your money on expensive racks
