I did try out the phone case in the sink with toilet paper on the inside and everything stayed dry but opted to just throw my phone in the bag instead

The phone case worked great for hours of snorkeling though it eventually did fall apart luckily outside the water when i was trying to put my phone iphone 6 with otter box in it

I havenot used it as a flotation device but i expect it would work for that too
