New model has a sliding lock switch on the far right edge of the timer. Key-presses are clear because of the audible beep you hear. Button battery (l1154f) lasts a long time.

Timer hangs on the fridge with its magnet waiting for me. I wear it around my neck when cookingto remind me that something is on or in the stove.

Timer allows me to attend to other tasks in the house without having my meal preparation overcooked or forgotten. Can’t complain about 8-10 yrs of perfect function. Tackling little chunks of undesirable tasks really can make the difference.

There is a number keypad to type in the amount to be timed! It has a handy count up feature, a timer and a clock. I mostly use the timer (meaning countdown) instead of the count-up.

If it dies after one year, polder refuses to replace it. To add insult to injury, it is not returnable. I go by the numbers counting down, which is inconvenient.
