I had got to the stage where i would not instigate a conversation with anyone on the bus or in the street because i simply couldnt catch half of what they were saying and i felt such a fool having to ask people to repeat all the time

At home the family were a bit fed up too of my always having to ask them to repeat what they said so again i avoided conversation

My doctor arranged for me to have a national health aid and i think that would have worked if only i could have fitted it in my ear properly but even after having it adjusted very slightly a couple of times it was impossible

Eventually it fell out once too often and i lost it

To be honest i would have splashed out on an expensive digital aid except that these seem to have such a mixed reception
