Pros & Cons
Pros
Author andres ericsson explains the importance of deliberate practice. Deliberate practice is not always easy but it works. It also provides instruction on how to actually to that effectively, rather than just romanticizing about it.
This book is phenomenal. It is easy to read, but it is also meaty, with many actionable ideas.
The book is well researched and offers numerous examples. The explanations are concise and again, useful. This book is evidenced based on research.
Cons
This is the most redundant, repetitive book i have ever read. There's really only one idea in the book, and it's on pages 98-100. It reeks of filler and at least three quarters of the book could have been edited out.

The author gives scant advice as to how, just examples of others who have magically done this. You have to read a hundred pages of stories about chess and heart surgery and number memorizers before they get to the main point.
There are numerous holes in this thesis that can be spotted in nearly every example given. All the examples are observational. There is no new information here and the title is extremely misleading.
