Pros

It cuts even very hard cheeses with ease and doesn't snag or hesitate on softer cheeses. It glides through just about any hardness of cheese almost effortlessly. I use it a lot for parmesan and it works perfectly for this.

It has a rectangular cutout that does the slicing. You run the spatula blade over the cheese and it slices as it goes. I have this thing for finding the perfect planes that slice cleanly.

Cons

Slicer doesn't cut gouda well. Looks just like my swedish cheese slicer, but no good. We buy gouda cheese at costco. It's just a trash slicer.

Oxo product is not very useful in my opinion. I had to have them send me a replacement since amazon did not stand behind the quality of the product they sent me. I'm normally a fan of oxo products, but this one fell a bit short for me.

Not very sturdy, bends easily, only works on the softest of cheeses so basically useless. Very flimsy.
