Pros & Cons
Pros
I believe this knife is superior to the ka bar in everyway. It's uglier and not as polished as a kabar, but is thicker and just as effective.
Blade is light, and fast to handle, good in a fight. Leather stacker grip feels good in the hands. The blade is nicely parkerized and wears beautifully.
The price - currently sub-$40 - is excellent. A real bargain, lots of knife for the money. It's nice to have one i can beat up now.
Case also makes a first gen marine knife, but has usmc emblazoned on the natural color sheath. It is tight at first, but will loosen with use. The sheath is leather and serviceable, but a little crude.
It comes razor sharp just as mine did all those years ago. It shaves hair off your arm that means its friggin sharp ok. It looks like the steel of the blade is properly hardened and will hold an edge.
Cons
The paint on the handle is very poorly done, there are drip marks on the hand where the paint beaded up and dripped off. Looks like it has grit all over the blade rather than being a smooth blade. The only good part is the sheath.

Price
I feel it is worth that price easily
Competitiveness
Great paired with my usgi ontario machete for campingsurvival
After some discussion i put it in a kydex sheath left the grip and blade coatings alone and presented it
I was shocked it fit into a repro u
