The unit is tiny. It only accepts pieces < 1-7/8 wide by &lt. This design renders it completely useless for intricate cuts. The blade is not very sharp and can only be moved in one direction.

The miter box is very tiny but the saw is pretty sharp so it’s great for cutting trim

However the miter box leaves a lot to be desired

My cutting the metal gave me a cleaner edge than the original and i hadnt noticed any flaws in the original till i went to compare them

Heres a comparison of both i laid a thin piece of plywood inside the new one to keep the saw from contacting the aluminum

If youre used to the old xacto miter box this is so much better

I realize how much faster and efficient the electric saw comparison is
