When it decides on a temperature, it seems to be off by roughly 8-10 degrees based on other thermometers. On a hot stove eye,it reads 80 degrees. For me i am okay with a 20° read error on a disk rotor.

Not to encourage this but i used it when my digital health thermometer was in shipment and it worked fine checking every temp on the forehead

This was purchased for work but ordered another for home use and discovered that they are much more comfortable to use as a cat laser than the actual cat lasers

I no longer use candy thermometers or any thermometer than needs cleaning for liquids
