You twist the green dial in the marked direction and when it stops, flip it up to unlock. It cleans like a breeze and the seal is very good. There are certain components that can be ran under water, and others that can't be fully submerged.

The presto multi-cooker is easy and intuitive to use. Has all the bells and whistles one could want. Works great, because i don't have to add the seasoning in the pressure cooker.

Cons
Steam shoots out from the valve and the whole lid. The lid doesn’t seal properly anymore & all of the steam releases all around the top.

Cleanup afterwards was easy because of the quality nonstick coating on the pot
Very pleased with the results so far
They did a good job with the user interfacing in keeping it simple
So instead of making a huge quantity in my new pressure cooker ive been sticking with the older smaller pot
Packaging/appearance
I generally only cook the meat in the multipot
Sometimes i make a big pot of marinara sauce in the multicooker and freeze part of it so we can have homemade spaghetti any time we want

Overall… a great multicooker for high volumes of food
An annoyance for sure but at least its a onetime thing
