The cable will only charge one or the other but not both at the same time

Long term im concerned the 30 pin connector might eventually break off as its held on by a plastic tab that will suffer from wear and tear from plugging and unplugging and the human oils that will degrade the plasticbut by then the iphone will have yet another connector
