It is easy to use just put it in the edge of the can with the silver edge guard resting against the can and turn

It will no longer remove the lids from the cans

Ive owned a swingaway for 30 years and it is still going strong

Works well on most cans however if a can is dented on the rim the can opener will not cut over the flattened part
