You do have to cycle trough all of the light settings either bright white or red to turn this onoff but the only real issue with this is having to cycle through the superbright and super annoying flashing light setting

You have to cycle through all 4 stages each time you use it

Impossible for drivers to miss the white and red lights i use the adjustable hinge to point the light unit upward to avoid flashing in anyones eyes

It has a separate button for the red light led night vision which is great since most headlamps only have one and you have to cycle through them to get to night vision
